What started out as a mild interest has now become a wildlife obsession! A few years ago, I bought a trail camera to try and capture some footage of the badgers at the bottom of the wood – and slowly over time, this grew into a network of trail cameras and nest box cams.

When we moved into our house 12 years ago, we knew that there was an owl box in the outbuilding – so we installed a WiFi camera to see if any owls ever visited. In 2020, we were fortunate enough to follow Boo and Ringo’s journey as they had 7 eggs, which let to 6 owlets fledging successfully.

After a lot of support through the sale of calendars and magnets, the network of cameras and nest boxes at Laurels Wood has been able to expand even further, with the hope of bringing even more wildlife to a screen near you.
